INDIGENOUS ENGAGEMENT

2026 Reflect RAP

In June 2026, Reconciliation Australia formally endorsed Advent Security Services’ inaugural Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan. It covers Advent Security Services and Advent Facilities Management, and sets the foundations for building relationships, respect and opportunities with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

“Reconciliation Australia welcomes Advent Security Services to the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) program with the formal endorsement of its inaugural Reflect RAP.”

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY

Acknowledgement of Country

Advent Security respectfully acknowledges and recognises the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the traditional custodians and knowledge holders of Australia.

We acknowledge the rich cultural diversity that has survived and exists within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nation groups across Australia. We pay our respect to their countries and their Elders both past and present.

OUR STRATEGY

Reconciliation Built Into How We Work

A future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are respected, included and empowered across every part of our organisation.

Our Reflect RAP focuses on building internal readiness: deepening cultural understanding, identifying the stakeholders we should work with, mapping existing processes and setting the baselines we will measure against.

CASE STUDY

Victoria Park Early Works

GIICA
|
Security Package

Advent saw the Victoria Park Early Works security package as a chance to show its First Nations commitments through how it tendered, not just what the submission said.

Before submitting, Advent engaged First Nations businesses to build Indigenous participation into the delivery model, and invited PLANZZ Australia into tender discussions with GIICA directly.

The Traditional Model

1
Tender
2
Contract Award
3
Search for Indigenous Supplier
4
Report Participation

The Advent Approach

1
Identify Opportunity
2
Engage First Nations Business
3
Develop Opportunity Together
4
Bring Business Into Client Conversation
5
Submit Competitive Tender
6
Secure Package
7
Deliver Together

Engagement Before Award.

THE OUTCOME

Advent secured the Victoria Park Early Works security package with a commercially competitive submission that built in First Nations participation from the start.

“Indigenous engagement should not begin after a contract is awarded. Where possible, it should form part of how the opportunity is developed.”

Justin Benney, Commercial Director, Advent Security
